About the Event
“Someone, I tell you, will remember us, even in another time” - Sappho, 630 BCE – 570 BCE.
The recollection of Greco-Roman myths and histories have been popular mediums through which same-sex relationships, gender exploration and human diversity has been portrayed. Join the Hellenic Museum for a night of uncovering the queer-coded histories and mythologies of antiquity in celebration of Pride Month this June. Greek Love will inform and entertain, as well as challenge how we, as a modern audience, interpret the past and how it relates to contemporary LGBTQIA+ representations.
Evening includes entry to the museum, a cocktail on arrival, a series of illuminating presentations by the Hellenic Museum team, followed by canapés and informal discussion.
