Leonidas

Leonidas was king of Sparta, possessing much of the strength and bravery that made his ancestors famous. His name waw raised to heroic status as a result of the events in the Battle of Thermopylae where 300 Spartans and 700 Thespians faced 1,000,000 Persian Empire troops. Sparta, an ancient Greek city state, had a unique social system where its citizens lived and trained for military excellence.
