In Greek mythology, a little owl traditionally represents or accompanies Athena, the virgin goddess of wisdom. Because of such association, the bird has been used as a symbol of knowledge, wisdom, perspicacity and erudition throughout the Western world. That is why we chose the quote of Sophocles " I know that I know nothing" to accompany the hand-drawn sketch. The Athenian Silver tetradrachm coin also depicts a small owl.
