Ancient Board Games: In the Minds of the Ancients

In this workshop students discover how and why board games were invented and played by three powerful civilisations: the ancient Greeks, Egyptians and Chinese. Students discover the values, rituals and practices of ancient societies through their games. They will play the Greek game Petteia and Chinese game of Go to delve into ancient warrior culture and battle strategy, and explore the passage into the underworld through Egyptian Senet.
