Vital Vases: The Archaeology of Ancient Greek Ceramics

Students explore what pottery tells us about ancient societies by investigating the changing form, function and design of pottery from Neolithic to black and red-figure pottery. Students examine ceramics using historical and archaeological thinking, decode vase paintings and handle ancient ceramics to interpret their socio-historical significance.
