Clio Muse Mug

The Hellenic Musuem has partnered with Natalie Rompotis Illustration and Salt&Pepper to produce the final set of five limited edition mugs in the Muses series, reimagining mythical muses representing poetry, astronomy, dance, and music, inspired by the nine goddesses of ancient Greek mythology who symbolized the arts, sciences, and literature.

Clio

In Greek mythology, Clio is the Muse of History, one of the nine Muses who were sources of inspiration for the arts, science and philosophy – and the best Muse of all, if we do say so ourselves! As the chronicler of great or heroic deeds, she is most often depicted holding an open scroll or seated beside a chest of books. Her name comes from the Greek word kleô, meaning "to make famous."
