Event Details
Ancient and contemporary converge in this intimate, after-hours life drawing experience presented by the Hellenic Museum and Australian jewellery house Temple of the Sun.
This special evening will begin with access to the Rituals: Gifts for the Gods collection, and a brief museum-led discussion exploring the practices, offerings and beliefs that shaped humanity’s relationship with the divine. Focus will then shift from artefact to living form as guests settle into the sublime surrounds of the Henson Gallery, where artist Rosie Turner will lead a one-hour life drawing session inspired by classical aesthetics. Here participants will sketch a nude model adorned only with Temple of the Sun’s ancient-inspired jewellery, exploring the interplay between body, adornment and meaning.
Designed for everyone from curious beginners to experienced artists, this contemplative session invites close looking, slow observation and thoughtful mark-making in a uniquely evocative setting. An immersive evening where gold becomes offering, adornment becomes language, and drawing becomes ritual.
