—————
The Sun at Midnight is an exhibition of five Australian contemporary artists whose works are informed by classical Hellenic motifs and principles. Across photography, drawing, painting and sculpture, the works of Ann Debono, Stephen Benwell, Grace Wood, Ngilan Margaret Dodd and Rob McLeish address how widely the aesthetic principles of Greek classicism permeate contemporary culture.
This is the first exhibition of the Contemporary Art Space (CAS), an extension of the Hellenic Museum's occupancy within the Former Royal Mint. This dedicated contemporary art gallery will host rotational exhibitions that invite visitors to explore their personal and shared connection to the Hellenic legacy, while also providing a platform for emerging and established contemporary artists.
