Step into the sensorial world of ancient ritual with Sacred Scents, a strictly limited, special edition of the much-loved Seasonal Scents workshop series presented by the Hellenic Museum and Greek-Australian fragrance house THEMATIKOS.
Inspired by the international exhibition Rituals: Gifts for the Gods, this immersive experience begins with a guided tour led by a Hellenic Museum historian. Explore the remarkable Rituals collection on loan from the Hellenic Ministry of Culture while uncovering the deep cultural and spiritual significance of fragrance in ancient Greek life. Learn how scents were crafted, used in offerings to the gods, and embedded in the rhythms of ritual, identity and daily adornment.
Then, settle into the sublime surrounds of a transformed gallery space as THEMATIKOS artisans guide you through the process of blending your own bespoke eau de parfum. Drawing on historically inspired scent profiles shaped by myth, memory and the Mediterranean landscape, you’ll create a signature fragrance to be bottled, named, and labelled by you.
Take home not just a unique scent, but a deeper understanding of how the ancients connected to the divine through the senses.
