Hellenic Museum and THEMATIKOS present Seasonal Scents: Mother's Day, the first of our popular candle-making workshops for 2024. Grab your mum or gather your friends,  join us for some history and craft, and come away with a bespoke, full-sized candle to gift or keep!

What to Expect

Seasonal Scents is no ordinary candle workshop. This program combines craft with history, and begins with a Hellenic Museum introduction to the traditions surrounding candles and fragrance throughout time. Then, with your newfound historical grounding, you'll have the opportunity to make your own soy candle with the help of THEMATIKOS artisans. Select your vessel then be guided through the process of placing your wick, formulating a signature scent from THEMATIKOS' range of fragrances, mixing and hand-pouring your scented wax, then naming and labelling your bespoke creation. A unique and hands-on experience that's ideal for Mother's Day, sharing with friends or simply connecting with yourself.

About THEMATIKOS

The THEMATIKOS brand was started by a mother and son in Melbourne. Inspired by scent's power to trigger nostalgia, they develop blends that draw upon their Greek heritage and life in Melbourne while also blurring the lines between classical antiquity and contemporary minimalism.
