Get into the festive spirit with this hands-on workshop where art, history and creativity collide.
Hosted after-hours in the stunning Hellenic Museum, your evening will begin with an exclusive curator-led tour and talk in the Divine Thresholds: Icons and the Orthodox Christian World exhibition. Explore the development of icons, how they utilised established symbols and visual language to communicate meaning, and how votive offerings (known as 'tamata' in the Greek Orthodox Church) played a role in religious practice throughout history, before creating your own symbolically-inspired tokens.
Settling into workshop stations inside this reverent exhibition, you'll be guided to craft a series of personal ornaments using beautiful foil embossing techniques, while drawing inspiration from the treasures surrounding you. Come away with newfound knowledge and a set of entirely unique, shimmering decorations to gift or treasure this festive season.
