Event Details

The Hellenic Museum is delighted to invite you to the opening of its newest exhibition, Who Are You?: Athens, Aotearoa & the Art of Marian Maguire at 6–7.30PM Thursday 17 November.

Join us from 6PM for refreshments, and speeches from Hellenic Museum CEO & Head of Curation Sarah Craig and artist Marian Maguire. Guests will then be invited to enter the exhibition.

About the Exhibition

British, Māori and ancient Greek cultures collide in the works of New Zealand artist Marian Maguire. Who Are You?: Athens, Aotearoa & the Art of Marian Maguire brings a selection of these works to Melbourne's Hellenic Museum.

This triad of cultures opens a visual conversation that touches on colonialism, memory, cultural interaction, history and myth, and invites viewers to consider how these factors contribute to the construction of identity on a personal, cultural and national level.
