Hellenic Museum volunteers are an integral part of the Museum and play a vital role in the delivery of our cultural and educational programs. Our volunteers are committed to enhancing every visitor experience through knowledge, enthusiasm and community participation.

Who can volunteer?

Anyone over the age of 18 can volunteer. If you're passionate about helping others and have an interest or background in the arts, classical studies or archaeology, we want to hear from you!

What do volunteers do?

Hellenic Museum volunteers assist with visitor engagement in front of house roles including reception, gift shop and gallery invigilating. They assist Museum visitors to understand and interact with exhibitions, activities and events.

Where opportunities arise, volunteers may also assist with other projects in line with their personal interests. This may include exhibitions, marketing, research, administration or being trained in guided tour delivery.

Benefits of volunteering:

  • Hands-on experience in the arts

  • Insight into the workings of a boutique cultural centre

  • Practical experience for a future career

  • Community engagement and involvement
