Event Details

Venture into the Hellenic Museum's galleries this summer and you may find the ancient world stepping out to meet you! Welcome to Past Perspectives, an immersive, all-ages tour where the past comes to life. Guided by costumed interpreters who step fully into character, these tours invite you on an everyday odyssey through the Rituals: Gifts for the Gods exhibition, as seen through ancient eyes.

Will your guide be a citizen navigating daily life in the polis? A well-travelled wanderer with stories gathered from across the ancient world? Or perhaps the Pythia of Delphi, emerging from the Temple of Apollo to share her prophetic wisdom? No matter who appears, they bring with them their own unique insights, shaped by their experience of the ancient Greek world. See the remarkable Rituals collection in new light as your guide shares its objects and stories through their distinct perspectives, revealing different facets of how rituals, offerings and gods were woven into daily life.

Part guided tour, part time-slip encounter, Past Perspectives combines theatrical storytelling with historic insights and hands-on interpretive objects to bring history to life. This tour has been designed for all ages to enjoy, inviting kids, families and adults alike to explore the ancient world together.
